The Story of King Midas
The story of King Midas is a Greek myth that has been passed down for many generations. It is about a king, named Midas, who is a very wealthy ruler. One day, he is granted one wish from the god named Dionysus. His wish was for everything he touched to turn to gold.
The next day, the wish took effect. This was when King Midas realized that he had made a terrible decision. It was glorious for him initially when he was turning chairs and tables into solid gold, however, he was turning his food and drink to gold as well. Out of excitement, he gave his daughter a hug. Little did he know, she would turn into a golden statue just as everything else.
Eventually, the curse was lifted and his daughter was restored to her original state. This event serves as a reminder that we should be grateful for what we have, and not take it for granted. Otherwise, we will fall into the clutches of greed.
